Bastion Collective, Australia’s fastest growing communications collective, today illustrated the rapid expansion of the firm with the acquisition of a creative content agency, launch of a social media analysis centre and a new board appointment.
Acquisition of Creative & Content Agency, Bastion Stadium
Bastion Collective announced its acquisition of Creative & Content Agency, The Stadium, revealing it would be now working with award winning media creative duo Suzanne Pontey and Rob Rosenberg, both of whom have worked with almost every major sporting organisation in Australia, sharing over 40 years of experience working for the biggest broadcasters in the country.
Suzanne Pontey’s over 20-year career has seen her work on the likes of Olympic & Commonwealth Games, Sky Racing, TEN Network, NINE, SEVEN, Foxtel and FOX SPORTS. Rob Rosenberg, ex FOX SPORTS, ONE HD, ESPN & SEVEN, has gained wide acclaim internationally for his award winning work and is a Balmain Tigers Centenary Medalist for services to the club including leading the successful campaign to save Leichhardt Oval.
The Stadium work with Australia’s biggest sporting clients, including NRL, Cancer Council, PGA, V8 Supercars, NSW Waratahs, Sydney Thunder, FOX SPORTS and Netball NZ. The company will be joining Bastion Collective effective October 1.
Launch of social media analysis centre, Bastion Amplify
Bastion’s focus on delivering real time content led it to develop a custom-built social media analysis centre, Bastion Amplify, launched this month.
Bastion Amplify is a fully equipped analysis room with nine screens dedicated to tracking online conversations about major events as they happen in real-time (such as the Grand Final this weekend). Reviewing over 400 million sites, blogs, forums and social media accounts globally, Bastion Amplify monitors trends around major events and announcements, identifying trends within those conversations.
From this data, Bastion Amplify then identifies opportunities for brands to engage in the conversation, in real-time. This creates opportunities for brands to interact with current social media fans, future social media fans and participants in third party conversations. This 360 view, coupled with real time and relevant content production, brings brands into conversations naturally and easily – just like one of the fans.
The suite is located at the Collective’s headquarters and bridges the gap between real-time moments and social conversation, creating opportunities for brands to participate with current and potential customers who may not be aware of aware of their relevance through live events.
One of Amplify’s first executions covered Australia’s #libspill2015 which produced a series of insights, including the revelation that more Australians were searching AFL related news than updates of the leadership change during its most crucial moments.
Appointment of Spotify Managing Director, Kate Vale, to Bastion Effect
Further establishing Bastion Collective as a major player in the media space, is the board appointment of Spotify Managing Director ANZ Kate Vale.
Kate Vale is widely recognised as one of the country’s most influential digital experts and joins the board of Bastion Effect (the strategic communications arm of Bastion Collective) in an advisory, non-executive role.
Vale’s name is synonymous with digital growth. She joined Google as their very first Australian employee as Head of Sales and Operations Australia / New Zealand in 2002, and later became the Head of YouTube, Australia / New Zealand. Currently Managing Director of Spotify Australia / New Zealand, Vale joins Bastion Effect to further support the firm as it continues to enhance its digital offering across its Australasian offices.
The announcements realise Bastion Collective’s strategy to disrupt traditional marketing by creating custom, cutting edge content and marketing solutions for its growing roster of clients through any medium. With the acquisition of The Stadium, launch of Bastion Amplify and the board appointment of Spotify’s Kate Vale, Bastion are the perfect position to assist clients with favourable commercial outcomes, said Bastion Collective CEO, Fergus Watts.
